Providence Promise will provide participating Providence public school students with the financial resources that will enable them to further their education at most eligible colleges or technical schools. The “Gap Funding” (i.e. the difference between the higher education program costs and financial aid) for tuition and board and room will be paid by Providence Promise.
It is anticipated that during the first six years in which scholarships are being paid, a total of $28.5 million will be expended on behalf of participating students and during the first sixteen years, a total of $131.9 million dollars will be expended on behalf of the participating students.
