    Foundations College Prep is a new public charter school that will serve students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades next Fall in the Roseland community of Chicago, eventually growing to serve 6-12th grades. Our mission is to empower youth to thrive in college and life by giving them access to innovative educators who teach them to think critically, live with honor, and strive for a better self and world. We also aim to develop the foundational knowledge, tools and sustainable systems to support successful replication and broader change beyond our walls.

    Our vision rests on our commitment to serving students in a safe, supportive environment, providing all students a rigorous college preparatory education and being a core part of the greater community. Foundations College Prep also believes that children who come to school with less deserve more from our schools. Yet we know "more" requires thoughtful innovation and cannot rest solely on teachers. Addressing the scale of educational inequity requires a relentless focus on designing excellent schools that work well for students and staff – schools that demand commitment and talent but not heroics.
