    About Us

    RISE (Resilience In Student Education) Coaches are needed to serve as tutors/facilitators to teach resiliency principles through reading a literature story to first graders that reveal how the main character bounces back from life's challenges. The volunteer commitment includes the following: 1. Present lessons in all first grade classrooms at your assigned school once a week, and mingle with students on the playground/lunchroom to build trusting relationships (approximately four hours). 2. Complete and submit the Fresno PD background application. 3. Meet once a month for distribution of the month's lesson plans and books; training; and sharing ideas.
