WGBH informs, inspires, and entertains millions of people throughout New England -- at home, at work, in the classroom, in movie theaters, and more. Boston's last remaining independent TV station, WGBH offers a range of productions (among them, Greater Boston, Basic Black, and La Plaza) that focus on the diverse local community. WGBH 89.7, Boston's NPR arts and culture station, offers a rich menu of classical, jazz, blues, spoken word, and more. WGBH is the leading producer of PBS prime-time programs and online content, a major producer for public radio, and a pioneer in educational multimedia and in technologies and services that make media accessible for people with disabilities. WGBH has been recognized with hundreds of honors: Emmys, Peabodys, duPont-Columbia Awards…even two Oscars. In 2002, WGBH was honored with a special institutional Peabody Award for 50 years of excellence.

WGBH also holds the license for WGBY 57/DT58 in Springfield, MA.
