About Us

King's Chapel is an historic monument and a living congregation. We blend old and new – a church founded in 1686, and a community of people open and searching, still learning how God can be more real and understandable to each of us in our daily lives. We have weekly worship services in two locations, unique music programs, and are located on the historic Freedom Trail.

Our historic building at 58 Tremont Street in Boston is open to visitors for guided tours relating to our role in the history of Boston, in defining the roots of Unitarian Universalism, and how we fit into the world today. During the tourist season, King's Chapel hosts thousands of visitors each day.

While we are a church first, we are a public entity committed to supporting carefully-selected community organizations with volunteer time, expertise, and money in cultivation of a more diverse, equitable and inclusive and just city, state, country and world.
