Family Center for Bipolar Disorder at Mount Sinai Beth Israel

About Us

Mount Sinai Beth Israel is a 1,368-bed, full-service tertiary teaching hospital that was founded on Manhattan's Lower East Side before the turn of the 20th century. Beth Israel originally was dedicated to serving a vulnerable population in that community. Now a century later, the Medical Center serves individuals and families from every walk of life throughout New York City and beyond.

The Family Center for Bipolar Disorder is a part of Mount Sinai Beth Israel Psychiatry department. The Family Center is dedicated to the compassionate support, treatment and understanding of bipolar illness within the context of the family. The Bipolar Specialists™ at the Family Center encourage and facilitate open communication between their patients and loved ones throughout the course of treatment. To achieve this, they use the Family-Inclusive Treatment (FIT) model, which is designed to include family members, partners, and other support-persons at every step of the way on the clients' road to wellness.
