Purpose The purpose of the Boys & Girls Club of Valdosta is to promote the social, educational, health, leadership, and character development of boys and girls during critical periods of their growth.

Our History The Boys & Girls Club of Valdosta, Inc. was organized on January 22, 1944. Since that time it has touched the lives of thousands of young people in South Georgia. The first club facility was located at 311 South Troup Street. In 1955 the Boys Club and newly formed Girls Club moved their headquarters to a new facility at 614 North Toombs Street. In 1956 the club organized Little League Baseball and added a swimming pool. The club grew rapidly at the new location and in 1961 additional property was purchased and the Girls Club moved into separate quarters. Over the years the club has developed facilities and programs that would meet the needs of our growing community. In 1960 the Club obtained permission from the city and developed a baseball field at Sunset Park. Additional facilities were developed in 1970 at both Sunset Park and also at a new field in Remerton. By the late 70's, the club was looking to expand once more. In 1979 Groundbreaking Ceremonies were held at a 24 acre site in North Lowndes County that would become the Lake Laurie Youth Sports Complex. Two additional facilities were added in Brooks County in 2003 to expand the outreach of our community even further.

The Boys & Girls Club of Valdosta has recently completed their newly renovated Don F. Reames Teen Center at the former Toombs Street location and new David S. Waller Unit on West North Street. This campus has over 40,000 square feet in facilities and one city block devoted to kids in downtown Valdosta. The community coalesced to raise over $11-million to expand services to the children who need us the most. The Boys & Girls Club of Valdosta's 67-years of impact has once again reached a new level of service with a multi-faceted approach to reaching kids.

Thank you Valdosta and Lowndes County for the continued support!
