  • Mission

Our mission is to help families avoid homelessness. We do this by providing rental assistance to families who are facing eviction as the result of an unexpected, no-fault financial emergency.

    About Us

hope+door was founded in June 2021 by Dan and Steve Berger of Berger Communities, a property management company headquartered in suburban Philadelphia.

To date, hope+door has provided over $390,000 in rent grants to more than 150 families nationwide. These grants have enabled families to successfully stay in their rental homes and, most importantly, allowed 600+ children to remain in school, stay connected to their friends, and live without the stress and fear that comes with housing insecurity. We are especially proud that nearly 90% of applicants report that they are living in the same apartment or have moved to a larger apartment 9-12 months after receiving a rent grant from hope+door.

Our organization is funded almost entirely by the multifamily housing industry and receives generous donations from property management companies and industry supplier partners nationwide.
