  • About Us

The International AIDS Women’s Caucus is a group of women that was formed in Amsterdam at the VIIIth International Conference on AIDS in 1992 by women infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. We came together because we believed women’s issues were not being adequately addressed at the International Conferences and at the national and all levels.

Our goal was to ensure that women’s issues were highlighted at future World AIDS Conferences and since then, the IAWC has expanded its reach, working to ensure that the rights of women and girls with respect to HIV/AIDS are widely represented at both the regional and international levels.
