Ijams Nature Center

Knoxville, TN

  • Mission

The mission of Ijams Nature Center is to encourage stewardship of the natural world by providing an urban greenspace for people to learn about and enjoy the outdoors through engaging experiences.

    About Us

Ijams Nature Center is a member and volunteer supported non-profit environmental education center and 320 acre sanctuary. The park was founded in 1965 on the original home site of H.P. and Alice Ijams who lived at the location for more than 50 years from 1910-1964. Their passion for nature and education children still lives on in the park today. The vision of Ijams Nature Center is that "through direct experience with the outdoors all people will appreciate and care for the natural world."
