Elm City Montessori School
- New Haven
375 Quinnipiac Ave.
ECMS opened its doors to 70 New Haven area children in August 2014. ECMS is New Haven’s first public Montessori school and the only local charter school in the state. Our vision is to build an excellent school focused on child centered learning, hands-on inquiry, multi-age classrooms, and intensive parental engagement, that serves as a model to inspire our community and ensure all New Haven children reach their full potential. As a part of the unique structure of the local charter, ECMS works closely with New Haven Public Schools (NHPS). More than 500 New Haven children and more than 100 children from surrounding towns applied to ECMS in the spring of 2014. The school plans to grow by one to two classrooms per year over the next ten years until it eventually serves students through eighth grade.
New Haven is a thriving arts, cultural, and education hub, located in the center of a growing community of Connecticut public Montessori schools.
