Council on American-Islamic Relations - Washington State
CAIR is the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy group. CAIR's mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding. See: www.cair.com
CAIR-Washington is the local chapter of the national organization and is a not-for-profit organization registered in Washington state. Though it leverages the resources, expertise, and knowledge base of CAIR (based in Washington D.C.), it functions as an independent organization that sets its own strategy and goals. Because CAIR-WA is a growing non-profit, interns and volunteers play a very important role in our work and undertake a considerable amount of responsibility, often leading major projects such as our annual WA Muslim Lobby Day, our Muslim Youth Leadership Program, our Seattle Times Article Analysis, and much more.
CAIR-WA welcomes interns and volunteers from all backgrounds and faiths.
