Fall 2013 Fellowship

Health Policy Fellow

The Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) is now seeking a full-time fellow to work 40 hours per week, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., M-F.

The fellow will be compensated at a rate of $16.82 /hour and the fellowship begins in early September 2013 and runs through August of 2014.

The Health Policy Fellowship is an experiential learning opportunity. The fellow will work alongside the entire health policy team and participate in a variety of activities. Insight will be gained regarding the workings of philanthropy and the mission and values of the Missouri Foundation for Health. Experiences will include research, editing, reviewing grant proposals, outreach activities to communities and policymakers, assisting with health advocacy focused trainings and workshops, and gaining knowledge of and building relationships with health advocates from around the state. This fellowship is an opportunity to gain a working knowledge of the health policy landscape in Missouri.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be currently enrolled or a recent graduate of a Master’s program of study typically in a health related discipline. The relevance of a fellowships at the Foundation to the student’s academic and/ or career goals will be an important part of the evaluation of an applicant. Must be organized, resourceful, confidential, team and detailed oriented. Must also have strong written and oral communication skills and proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. formatting, creating tables, comfortable copying, moving files in and out of electronic folders).
