We provide free legal services to poor people in Chicago and suburban Cook County in civil matters (family law, housing, employment, disability rights, immigration, public benefits, consumer, bankruptcy, etc.). We give advice and brief service, bring claims before administrative agencies, and litigate in state and federal court. We have 80 attorneys in 6 intake offices and one downtown Chicago office. We are funded by the Legal Services Corporation, the State of Illinois, the City of Chicago, and numerous foundations, law firms, and individual donors. We have been in existence for almost 40 years.
