Unity Schools

Unity Schools is a charter management organization supporting two unique academically rigorous small schools located in East Oakland. Our schools hold high expectations for students, while offering a safe environment and intensive academic, emotional, and social support.  We believe East Oakland students deserve high quality public education that prepares them for a bright future.

Our high school, Oakland Unity High School (www.unityhigh.org), opened in 2003, now enrolls 350 students. Our middle school, Oakland Unity Middle School (www.unitymiddle.org), opened in 2015, currently enrolls 185 students.

Our schools ensure that all students are safe and receive the support they need to succeed academically and to graduate prepared for college and career. Last school year, the hard work, dedication, and love of the students, teachers, and families enabled every single one of our 2017 high school seniors and 8th graders to graduate.  For the third consecutive year, the organization Innovate Schools rated Unity High School as one of the top Bay Area high schools serving low-income youth. U.S. News & World Report also named us a "Gold Medal" school.
