    Description

    The Society of International Business and Development (SIBD) is a student-led organization affiliated with NYU’s Center for Global Affairs, oriented around the Private Sector: International Business, Economics and Development concentration. The organization builds and supports relationships among students, alumni and private sector practitioners, and promotes social advocacy and innovation in the private sector. SIBD engages its members by hosting seminars, panel discussions, skill workshops, and networking events with a comprehensive group of industry leaders. Additionally, SIBD supports the interests of its student base through field-specific sub-committees and sponsorship of student projects.

    Mission Statement

    The mission of the Society of International Business and Development is to build and support relationships among students, alumni and private sector practitioners. It also serves as a forum to promote advocacy and action in developing sustainable solutions to global problems.

    Objectives

    • Complement the academic curriculum of the Masters in Science in Global Affairs (MSGA) program by hosting events targeted towards the academic needs and professional aspirations of the student body. • Provide networking and engagement opportunities among students, alumni, the Center for Global Affairs (CGA) faculty/staff, and practitioners. • Engage alumni and encourage active CGA community involvement. • Support and promote SIBD and MSGA brand, externally. • Enhance relationships with other NYU programs, the greater New York academic community, and external companies and organizations.
