  • Mission

Seniors with Skills is a 501(c)(3) organization and our goal is to improve the overall quality of life of seniors through social engagement. Our mission is to help seniors remain active and help them make a difference in the community! Our most popular program is the Cards and Knitting Program where seniors make cards and knit with our volunteers, and all items go to local hospitals. We also have a computer training program to help connect seniors with their families and the newest technology!

    About Us

Seniors With Skills started as a small computer training program but has since expanded to Rochester, Buffalo, Olean, Boston and more parts of the US where volunteers have been running the computer lessons program and Cards and Knitting Program. We are looking for volunteers across the US and Canada to continue running our programs! Apply to become a volunteer at https://www.seniorswithskills.org/match-to-an-organization.

    More about the programs:

    Cards and Knitting Program

Our most popular program is the Cards and Knitting Program. Seniors With Skills sends volunteers to retirement residences where they can make cards and knitted items (caps, blankets) with seniors for hospital patients. This idea has had much success so far, and volunteers are responsible for introducing the program into retirement residences in their area. This allows seniors to be involved in the community and our volunteers always brighten their day!

    Computer Lessons Program

Seniors With Skills also helps residents at specific retirement residents learn specific skills such as computer lessons and art lessons. We send a volunteers to retirement residences on a weekly or biweekly basis where they can teach seniors how to learn computers on a personal basis. Skype, Social media, news, youtube are some examples of platforms our volunteers teach seniors about!
