    About Us

Serving Hands CDC is a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing food insecurity and empowering youth in the Tampa and Temple Terrace area. Founded on principles of service, compassion, and community collaboration, we work to meet both immediate needs and long-term challenges facing families.

Through our weekly food pantry, we provide consistent access to nutritious food for nearly 200 families each week, partnering with local organizations and volunteers to ensure no one in our community goes hungry. In addition to food assistance, our 3C Chess Mentoring Program engages youth in structured learning that promotes critical thinking, discipline, and positive decision-making.

We primarily serve low- to moderate-income families, at-risk youth, seniors, and individuals facing economic hardship. Our programs are designed not only to provide support, but also to create pathways for growth, stability, and self-sufficiency.

At Serving Hands CDC, we believe strong communities are built through compassion, consistency, and connection. By addressing both basic needs and personal development, we are committed to making a lasting impact—one family, one child, and one opportunity at a time.
