Amigas del Señor is a Methodist-Quaker Monastery, home to women committed to God and social justice. We live poor among the poor in our rural community on the North Coast of Honduras. It is a rustic lifestyle with no electricity or running water, and plenty of physical work. We do sustainable agroforestry on our 7-acre hilltop, with a view of the Caribbean Sea. Daily life is built around worship and prayer. One day a week we volunteer at the public health clinic in the town of Limón. We channel funds from donors to improve our corner of the world, primarily by supporting the clinic when the government doesn't come through (including assuring the availability of family planning methods).
Legally, we are a mission of First United Methodist Church of Hermiston, OR, through whom donations to our work can be made.
