    It Takes A Village DC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Washington DC. At It Takes A Village DC our mission is to restore the foundation of motherhood within the District. We want to empower communities by embracing one another in our “Village”. ITAV DC wants to ensure we are a part of the growth and improvement of the families within our communities . ITAV DC will provide services ,and resources such as wellness, financial literacy, reentry programs, mental health, job readiness, domestic violence advocacy and housing counseling services. We have intentionally created safe spaces for parents with them fully in mind. We are set on teaching our families to put their eggs in multiple baskets so their children can have options. That will mean having access to resources that would educate them, and empower one another as a true village because it really does take a village! It Takes A Village DC when we say “For Parents By Parents” we really mean it!

    About Us

    It Takes A Village DC provides virtual parental support groups to uplift parents. Our parent support group "The Village" was built by parents for parents to enhance the community communication on broad topics like Parenting within Covid to Racial Inequities!

    We Provide Housing Support

    We provide housing intake counseling services, and rental assistance resources for our parents.

    We Empower

    We empower our parents through giving them safe spaces, access to any resources they are in need of, such as "Mommy & Me" Yoga ,and financial literacy so they can learn about generational wealth to uplift their families.

    We Educate

    It Takes A Village DC educates parents using our Job locator workshops, resume workshops, and financial literacy services.

    We Strengthen

    It Takes A Village DC uses the sacred time in " The Village" parent support group is a safe community safe to strengthen and build community!

    We Build Community

    The Village parent support group is a safe community space for our parents to come get to know one another to build community.
