About Us
Solana Center for Environmental Innovation is a San Diego-area 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on soil, water, and waste diversion.
Our mission is to mobilize the local community to address the region’s most pressing environmental issues and enact impactful change.
Our work centers on community education, direct resource conservation and waste reduction, and innovative environmental research and development. We catalyze individuals, businesses, and local jurisdictions to work together to change behaviors and make real, measurable impacts on our environmental problems.
Our vision is a region where all cities collaborate to preserve resources through a closed-loop system that keeps materials out of our landfills and waterways, returns nutrients to our soils, and helps create systemic change at all levels that benefits our environment.
Solana Center believes that education, innovation, and action are required to address the environmental challenges in our region.
