265 Essex Street
Founded in 1994, The Salem Education Foundation (SEF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting community involvement and investment in the public schools of Salem, Mass. The only vehicle for private sector investment in public education in Salem, SEF has funded $500K in grants to teachers over the past 15 years to support innovative classroom experiences for Salem students making it the third largest private funder of the Salem Public Schools.
SEF has a long-standing commitment to improving the educational outcomes and experience of all students in our schools. We are committed to systemic reform of public education in Salem and view this approach as the only route to creating sustained change in student achievement. To that extent, all initiatives and investments that we will support in Salem will have the capacity to improve student achievement, promote effective teaching, and improve systems and structures.
