Pieter

Founded in 2009, Pieter in a non-profit organization implementing the mission that body-based practice is and should be for everyone. Pieter is one of LA County’s only resources for artists working in experimental performance, healing modalities, and the intersection of arts and activism. Our programming is free, by non-monetary donation, or for an affordable cost to accommodate the needs of Los Angeles’s marginalized, low-income populations. For the last decade, Pieter has been based in Lincoln Heights and served Los Angeles’s east side neighborhoods. As of August 1, 2020, Pieter is an entirely virtual studio, having left our 2,000 sq foot studio space due to the financial strain of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope to relocate to a new home in the next couple of years.
