    The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), a national initiative and component of the USA Freedom Corps program, was launched following the events of 9/11/2001. The goals of the MRC are to focus on enhancing our region’s emergency preparedness and public health by engaging citizens to become involved in a variety of training and education programs, serving the community through volunteerism, outreach efforts, and improving preparedness levels in regards to local homeland security.

    The Sacramento Regional Medical Reserve Corps coordinates volunteer health professionals to participate and contribute to the overall organized response to emergencies and disasters of all kinds and help bridge the gap in overall response to large scale and local emergencies.
