The Palace Performing Arts Center is the premier community based non-profit, educational and entertainment venue of its scale in Northeastern New York and neighboring New England. The Palace Performing Arts Center's goal is to provide a wide range of affordable and entertaining performing arts for people of all ages, ethnicities and means. By bringing the highest quality performances from national touring artists to local theatre groups, the Palace Performance Arts Center is dedicated to culturally educating the residents of the Capital Region.
The Palace Performing Arts Center was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 1984 with the goal of continuing the long tradition of quality performing arts established in the city-owned Palace Theatre. While the building itself has a history of its own as a depression-era movie theatre, built in 1931, turned rock music venue, the Palace Performing Arts Center wanted to open the theatre up to more audiences. Today the PPAC strives to be the premiere cultural, educational and entertainment venue of its scale in Northeastern New York and neighboring New England. Our organization focuses on bringing world class Arts and Entertainment to the Capital Region, as well as helping to advance local education through free and discounted programs for students. The Palace Performing Arts Center seeks to enrich the communities in and around Albany by broadening accessibility to events for diverse audiences.
Our mission is carried out through our principle programs:
