Council for Children's Rights

We are our community's leading voice for children's rights. We are 32 highly trusted attorneys, advocates and professional staff who are dedicated to serving children and connecting them to vital services. 

The Council fulfills its mission by working on issues important to children today and tomorrow. For children who have an immediate need or crisis, the Council intervenes on behalf of children via three teams:

• Children's Defense Team
• Custody Advocacy Program
• Individual Advocacy Team

We provide attorneys, advocates and staff to protect the rights and interests of children who find themselves in need of a voice. We also connect children and their families with agencies and institutions that help them thrive.

Through the work of the Larry King Center for Building Children's Futures, the Council for Children's Rights also looks out for the long-term well-being of children tomorrow by:

• Maximizing the effectiveness and impact of work being done for children by providers, agencies and funders, and helping to find long-term solutions to chronic problems affecting children in our community.
• Building a strong platform for the future well-being of every child through four key roles:

3. Public Policy

4. Research and Evaluation
