  • About Us

    Background Statement

Launched in 2004, Studios Inc. is Kansas City’s only nonprofit arts organization offering pivotal three-year residencies to mid-career artists who are poised to significantly expand their careers according to goals articulated in their applications. Its competitive application process, sharp focus on career advancement, and commitment to the under-served population of mid-career artists set Studios Inc. apart from other artist-support organizations. Since leaving Review Inc. in 2010 to become an independent nonprofit arts organization while maintaining its mission of the previous six years, Studios Inc has broadened its reach among artists and the general public, developed new marketing and funding plans, developed new and refined existing programs, increased its capital assets, and expanded its earning potential, all on a modest operating budget that has remained relatively unchanged since 2008. Overall, it has deepened the impact of its programs and continued serving the artists, patrons, students, and general public in the Greater Kansas City area.
