About Us

About Kalein Centre:

Based in beautiful Nelson, British Columbia, the Kalein Centre fosters a holistic approach to compassionate end-of-life care. We are dedicated to discovering what death can teach us about living a meaningful life, and how these discoveries enhance the ways we live, learn, and care for one another. In partnership with the Nelson & District Hospice Society, the Kalein Centre has piloted a day hospice program. We have also worked in partnership with our local arts and education communities to host immersive learning events with Frank Ostaseski, Dr. Bill Thomas, Julia Cunningham, Corazon, Touchstones and Kutenai Art Therapy Institute. Kalein hosts an annual Festival of Lights, ongoing Death Cafes and Writing through Grief workshops, a Nav-CARE program, and an intergenerational CLICK! Project, among other offerings. As Kalein’s Executive Director, you would be supported by a dynamic, energetic and diverse board of directors. Please visit our website for more information about the Kalein Centre’s approach and work in the community.
