Family Promise of Yellowstone Valley

About Us

Family Promise of Yellowstone Valley is at it's heart a shelter and rehabilitative program for families in the Yellowstone Valley area experiencing homelessness. It is comprised of more than 26 faith based congregations and over 1400 volunteers that provide meals, shelter, and a safe, non-judgmental environment for families experiencing homelessness. Congregation volunteers take turns on a weekly rotating basis providing hospitality and basic needs to our homeless families. There is a full time Case Manager on staff that evaluates each family and creates a plan of action for them to transition into an independent and sustainable life style. Every family receives intensive case management support, mentoring, and guidance while in the emergency shelter portion of the program. FPYV is about compassion and accountability. Families are expected to work hard to accomplish their goals and regain housing. After a client has completed the emergency shelter portion, they can move into their own housing, or one of four transitional apartments that FPYV has available. The relationship and trust the FPYV staff and volunteers build with clients continues even after they leave.

The goal of FPYV is not to shelter and feed as many people as possible, but rather to have a lasting positive impact on families.
