    About Us

Reading Coaches for Kids is a volunteer tutoring program at The Volunteer Center of Brown County, designed to increase students’ reading abilities and academic success. Dedicated, caring volunteers provide consistency and educational support by working individually with students during the school day in K-5 classrooms throughout Brown County, helping them improve their reading skills. Reading Coaches must pass a background check and agree to commit to a minimum of one hour session per week over the course of a school year or summer school. No educational background is needed, and training and ongoing support are provided.

The Reading Coaches for Kids program is coordinated through the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) at The Volunteer Center of Brown County, but Coaches range in age from 18 to 90 years old, connected by their desire to see children succeed.
