parkrun volunteers provide free, weekly timed 5km / 3.1 mile running events in every community in the U.S. that wants one.

parkrun is the global network of free, weekly timed 5km run/jog/walks held in over 900 parks around the world. parkuns are created and conducted locally by volunteers. They currently exist in 9 communities around the U.S. and welcomes local initiatives to create new parkruns. parkrun provides the timing, results processing, event conduct and other infrastructure, including insurance, to help neighborhood volunteers organizes and conduct free parkruns where everyone is invited.
