Comhlámh: Irish Association of Development Workers

Dublin 2, Ireland | www.comhlamh.org

About Us

Comhlámh is an organisation of volunteer members committed to working for sustainable development and human rights. It does this through supporting, empowering and training development workers, development educators and campaigners and engaging with these in action for just, equitable and sustainable development. The particular contribution of Comhlámh stems from: being an organisation of volunteer members; being informed by the experience of Irish development workers worldwide; not being involved in delivering aid overseas; having membership throughout Ireland approaching development and social justice in an integrated way. It seeks to act in solidarity and partnership with people struggling for economic and social justice everywhere. Founded in 1975, Comhlámh has 900 volunteer members. The name is the Irish word for 'solidarity'. Our web-site includes a free Jobs Notice Board for voluntary sector jobs, and information on development education and campaigns on issues of development and human rights
