About Us

The New School for Social Research offers M.A. and Ph.D. programs in Anthropology, Economics, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology. Interdisciplinary M.A. programs are offered in Historical Studies and Liberal Studies. Founded in 1933 by scholars fleeing Nazi Germany, The New School for Social Research provides students with an opportunity for rigorous training in the social sciences under world class teachers. Instruction stresses interdisciplinary inquiry which is progressive in nature while maintaining a strong consciousness of and respect for the past.
