About Us

The Center Against Sexual & Family Violence confronts and prevents domestic violence and sexual assault in all their forms by advocating for safety and justice through intervention, education and community collaboration. Incorporated in 1977, the Center Against Sexual & Family Violence, started as a Hotline that referred women who were victimized by domestic violence to a network of "safe houses" that offered shelter to women and their families. A Shelter for Battered Women became a reality two years later in an unused convent at Our Lady of the Valley Church. By 1983, the Shelter for Battered Women was moved to a larger facility, at an intentionally nondescript and undisclosed location that it still occupies today. CASFV has grown to address family needs in times of emergency and also works to rebuild families in a non-residential setting by providing services in the tri-county area of El Paso, Culberson, and Hudspeth.
