About Us

The Capuchin Franciscan Volunteer Corps Midwest is an intentional community of full-time volunteers who live simply, practice Franciscan spirituality and examine issues of social justice through reflection and action.

Service areas include urban education, community development, social services, social justice advocacy, environmental education, urban farming, adult education, immigration advocacy, domestic violence services, women's issues, and youth programs including after school programs. Domestic placements are available in Chicago, Detroit and Milwaukee for a one year commitment starting in August. International placements in Nicaragua and Perú are available for people who speak conversational Spanish and can commit to 18 months of service starting in August.

Volunteers receive a small allowance, room & board, transportation, health insurance as well as training and on-going spiritual formation as desired.
