The Forensic Project

  • About Us

The Forensic Project is a unit of the non-profit Capital Area Private Defender Service. The project is committed to the review of Travis County cases where clients were convicted due to unreliable DNA evidence processed at The Austin Police Department's Crime Lab.

For each requested case review, evidence will be examined to make a determination as to whether the evidence that led to the conviction was deficient.

If deemed to have had bad evidence, the Project will represent those affected through all post-conviction litigation.
