  • About Us

Since 1976, AFSC New Mexico has identified with the struggles of local people to empower themselves, with particular attention to water and land use and the need to support traditional ways of life.

AFSC New Mexico creates economic viability through the training of small farmers in sustainable agricultural practices, thereby protecting land and water rights and traditional cultural practices.

AFSC New Mexico provides a popular education model of farmer-to-farmer training in Rio Arriba County, Bernalillo County, and Dona Ana County. This hands-on model is a comprehensive training program that teaches beginning farmers all aspects of organic year-round food production.

AFSC New Mexico works to create systemic change in the food system to support small farmers and increase access to healthy local food in the community, including local schools.
