  • About Us

When the United States left Afghanistan, thousands of Afghans who helped the United States in its military and diplomatic mission were suddenly left at the mercy of the Taliban. Hundreds have been evacuated to Vermont, far from all they have known. We are a registered Vermont non-profit dedicated to serving and building the Afghan community in Vermont. As an approved 501(c)(3), VAA holds as its mission to assist Afghans in obtaining basic services including access to transportation and drivers licenses, employment, and English lessons. VAA also works to connect the Afghan community through cultural celebrations and events.
