  • About Us

Ryan T. Smith and Wendy Rein formed RAWdance in 2004 (incorporated 2007) with the mission to create driven, visceral works that reveal the essence of our relationships and identities. RAWdance crafts technically challenging dances balancing athletic movement with intellectual themes, and presents them in unexpected public spaces as well as the theater. SF Weekly dubbed the company’s work “edgy, sexy inventive fare designed to speak to audiences.”Criticaldance.com hailed the company’s directors as “site-specific royalty.” And the San Francisco Chronicle recently described theirs as a “genuine partnership, one of the more thrilling in Bay Area dance.”
