  • Mission

    The mission of the Belleville AmeriCorps program is to support neighborhood and school efforts to strengthen the city of Belleville. The program is united with community partners to increase youth academic success in school, promote computer literacy in youth and adults, strengthen the FNCA & ALNA neighborhoods through housing renovation, crime prevention and neighborhood beautification programs, empower local communities by working with neighborhood leaders to make positive impacts on their community, encourage volunteerism in community youth and adults through volunteer recruitment and coordination, and provide positive recreational and enrichment activities for youth in the after-school and summer hours.

    About Us

    Belleville AmeriCorps is a partnership with Belleville Elementary School District #118, Franklin Neighborhood Community Association, the Abraham Lincoln Neighborhood Association, the City of Belleville and Southwestern Illinois College. Belleville AmeriCorps members address the community service needs of the program partners and/or the educational needs of kindergarten through eighth grade students at one of District #118 schools.
