JELF's mission is to grant interest-free, last dollar loans for higher education to Jewish students in need. What makes JELF different than the government or a bank? Simply put, we have a personalized lending model and we don't charge interest on our loans! Since 1961, JELF has granted over $10 million to 4,000+ students. JELF's 5-state region includes Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Higher education includes college, graduate school and degree-granting vocational programs of study. We are proud to boast a 99% repayment rate. JELF strongly believes that money should not stand between a student and the education that he or she needs to excel in life. Without a higher education - at minimum, an undergraduate degree or vocational training - the doors to many of life's opportunities slam shut. The loans granted by JELF ensure that Jewish students have the potential to fulfill their educational goals.
