Friends of the Public Garden

  • About Us

Since 1970, the Friends of the Public Garden (the Friends) has worked with the City of Boston to preserve, protect and enhance Boston's first public parks: the Boston Common, the Public Garden and the Commonwealth Avenue Mall. By mobilizing advocacy for parks protection, providing ongoing parks care, conducting major improvement projects and providing much-needed financial support for activities beyond the capacity of the Parks Department, the Friends ensures that these treasured green spaces continue to be centerpieces of our city. In addition, the Friends offers popular social events and educational programs throughout the year.
