Frequency Writers

Mission: Frequency celebrates and supports writers.

Frequency Writers is a growing community of writers based in Providence, Rhode Island. Through workshops, free events, talks, readings, and open mics, we aim to engage writers of all levels of experience, ages, identities, and backgrounds. Our courses are designed both to challenge and support students, while also encouraging collaboration with other local creative communities. Frequency is a moving creation of the people in it.

Frequency Writers provides a welcoming and supportive community for anyone interested in creative writing, including those who are underserved by traditional writing programs. Frequency fosters fruitful collaboration with other organizations and artistic disciplines, and provides affordable and accessible classes, as well as scholarships, readings, and other programs to serve a diverse community of aspiring writers in Rhode Island. Frequency facilitates and encourages individuals to build strong connections, not only with each other but also with other artists and cultural communities.
