Einstein Charter School
The mission of Einstein Charter School (“Einstein”) is to promote academic excellence in teaching and learning through the integration of mathematics and science in interdisciplinary curricula and to promote the ideals and habits of lifelong learning among all stakeholders. Founded in 2005, Einstein Charter School is a top preforming, tuition free, open admissions PreK-8 elementary school with two campuses in New Orleans East. As a part of the Orleans Parish School Board, we service the needs of more than 950 students.
Einstein’s unprecedented seven years of continuous academic gains, progress that removed the school from the severely underperforming list and earned us statewide recognition as a “B” school last year, demonstrated that Einstein possesses the expertise to operate effective charter schools in New Orleans. This endorsement led us to replicate the school.
We are a charter school network of great ambition. To date we are the only open admissions charter school operator in New Orleans East to have the distinction of a “B” school. To fully serve the needs of our community we see an imperative to open a third high performing, open admissions elementary school and an innovative high school by 2020, serving the needs of 3,000 students, fully one third of school-aged children east of the industrial canal.
