AFCMentoring

  • About Us

AFC (Adoption and Foster Care) Mentoring is a Boston-based, non-profit organization that creates and administers one-on-one and group mentoring programs for children recently adopted or in foster care. Started in 2001, AFC Mentoring recruits and trains committed adult mentors to provide long-term, high-impact, high-consistency relationships with children AFC identifies through work with DSS and other referral agencies. During the past six years AFC has developed training and matching models and we have achieved extraordinary success. The length of mentor involvement and number of meetings per month exceed those of other mentoring programs. Our commitment to sustainability extends to our organization. Our founding Executive Director has built a diversified funding base with a wide variety of state, corporate, and individual donors.
