Craft in America Center
Craft in America is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the exploration, preservation and celebration of the handmade and its impact on our nation’s cultural heritage. The Center is a gallery space and library located on Third Street in the heart of Los Angeles. The Center is used for rotating contemporary craft exhibitions, research, lectures, fundraising events and hands-on art workshops. The center is an extension of the Craft in America project, which began with a Peabody Award-winning PBS documentary series that has grown into a larger organization over the years.
The Center holds a collection of craft and art-oriented books, periodicals, and videos, in addition to a small permanent collection of objects. The Center organizes exhibitions and hosts artist talks and other programs that pertain to each show. For more information, visit www.craftinamerica.org/studycenter.
