Hello World

Hello World is a K12 computer science organization. Our mission is to build autonomous learners who approach and solve problems like engineers, with a focus on growing true programming and computational capabilities that can be applied to any field. Our mission is not to raise the next generation of engineers, but to raise critical thinkers that can use sophisticated tools to solve real-world challenges and radical creators who will become global knowledge contributors. We aspire to see students, particularly through 20% projects, applying their computer science and programming capabilities to fields far beyond those that are predictable, such as art, fashion, journalism, virtual worlds, music, healthcare, etc. Our curriculum is rigorous and builds up to content taught within college and graduate-level computer science courses. Our educational philosophy is deeply rooted in the beliefs of Seymour Papert - that students learn best when their learning is driven by curiosity and inquiry, and that nothing brings students more joy and fulfillment than engaging in and completing challenging work (“hard fun”).
