Little Green Bucket

Little Green Bucket is a mission-driven community compost collection service in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We formed in 2018 to help local residents reduce their carbon footprint by diverting their food waste away from the local landfill (where it emits methane) and putting it to work in local soil instead. We currently collect over 2000 lbs of food waste every week, which is then hauled to a local compost facility.

Founded by an environmental activist and human rights advocate, we are proud to operate our business under "triple bottom line" principles. In addition to the environmental benefits of our core work, we routinely review the environmental impact of all of our business practices and take steps to mitigate or offset any identified harms. We practice inclusive hiring, pay a living wage, and have structured our service tiers so that anyone can compost with us, regardless of income.

We are members of the US Composting Council and the New Mexico Recycling Coalition, and we plan to pursue B-Corp certification in 2021. We are incorporated as "Albuquerque Compost Collection, LLC".
