Description
As a ReStore volunteer, you’ll help support our mission by working alongside our staff and other volunteers to keep the store running smoothly. Tasks may include:
- Unloading donations from ReStore trucks
- Organizing the sales floor and creating displays
- Assisting with general store upkeep
The ReStore provides the public with affordable building materials, appliances, and home furnishings. All proceeds support the construction of future Habitat for Humanity homes right here in Summit County.
Basic volunteer qualifications involved with this assignment: Able to stand for your volunteer shift, customer service oriented, doesn't mind getting dirty.
Who will be served by this assignment? We facilitate provision of shelter, advocate for affordable housing, promote dignity, and support sustainable and transformational development for both our families served and the community at large.
What is the anticipated benefit of this volunteer service to those receiving the service? Habitat for Humanity of Summit County’s programs support the affiliate’s goals of creating stable families and stronger, more vibrant communities. The affiliate offers a number of programs designed to provide affordable housing support to revitalize the communities we serve. In effect, Habitat for Humanity seeks to build homes, community, and hope through neighborhood revitalization.
What specific skills will the volunteer need? Volunteer will need to be able to stand the majority of their shift. Some lifting can be part of their day if they are able.
