    Description

America 250 Relay Planners and Support

Description: The American Discovery Trail is celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2026 along with the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Our Celebration includes a unique signature event: a six-month 6,800 mile relay along a coast-to-coast trail which connects California to Delaware. Relayers will be hiking, walking & running, and be on bikes, horses, wheelchairs, etc, with outdoor enthusiasts ideally from all 50 states.

We’re looking for dynamic, creative, and highly organized individuals to be partners in planning the relay, play a role in securing sponsors, assist with participant registration, contribute greatly to communications and PR, and help organize trail-side events with local and state-wide entities. This may include traveling to sites along a route that runs through fifteen states, and serving as the connective tissue between the route and our various audiences.

Some of these individuals will be volunteers, and we will have at least one person who receives a monthly honorarium to help coordinate.

This project is for entrepreneurial persons who have a talent for visual storytelling and logistics, are willing to live with uncertainty, love people, and want to be part of an iconic outdoor experience celebrating the American Discovery Trail’s legacy and future.
